Josie & Jack is a slow drama that misses the points it is trying so hard to make.

Story: Josie & Jack starts as we meet siblings Josie (DeJonge) and Jack (Neustaedter). Who have been living under the tyrannical professor father Raeburn (Fichtner). The pair have hatched a plan to escape, with Jack always sharing the ideas.
That leaves Josie with only choice being to join him, as the pair looks to jumped around homes in the area. Josie must learn quickly when it comes to this world, while Jack continues to take advantage of people. Keeping Josie under his finger to hide his more dangerous ways.
Thoughts on Josie & Jack
Josie & Jack is a drama that follows a brother and sister as they look to experience the world outside of their strict father for the first time. Leading them on their own adventures, where Josie gets to see the world that she had been protected from. While Jack looks to take advantage of everyone, in the same way their father did.
This is a slow paced movie that doesn’t seem to hit any levels of major interest, it wants to tackle certain major issues in the world, but only ends up sweeping them up in the story, rather than pointing the focal point on these moments. The performances are strong enough to get more out of the story, only they don’t get enough to do to shine too all their potential.
